Ok - so, almost 2 weeks ago now marni for h&m was all I could think about, and now the mayhem is over! So now that the dust has settled and my brain is in gear, let me re-tell the 2 hours of madness I endured to get the few pieces I managed to get! I never thought I'd be one of those people who'd be stuck to the pc, frantically pressing refresh every 2 seconds - turns out that I am! I was poised for action - on the site at about...8, ok 7:30 (such a loser!)
Sometime after 8am the site went down - updating the site for our new designer collaboration - it said. hmm. I stayed close. By 9am myself and 2 girlfriends were texting back and forth - the site was now saying 'you are in a queue, collection opens at 10' what?! so we waited. and waited. refresh. refresh. refresh. arrrgh. at about 10:08 it suddenly opened up to the collection page and it was a shop! shop! shop! frenzy. no more communication, each man for himself now.
All accessories were mysteriously sold out. hmm. why did i get the feeling some elite group of people had access between 9 and 10. Oh well, onward to other things on my list. I got it all. or so i thought. in the end, i missed out on the maxi dress as they somehow sent me the short dress! annoyed is as strong a word as i can muster the energy to use.

Whatever. I got the rest. my darling fellow clotheshorse,
mrs jones, somehow found herself in h&m brent cross that afternoon just as some woman was returning £700 + worth of marni for h&m stuff! As it was just after lunch we could only wonder just how much she'd spent that prompted her to come back the same day! (there was a 7 day refund policy). Anyhoo, it was just our luck as she got us both some necklaces (after much haggling with the sales assistants who insisted on upholding 1 item per customer!).

All in all, it was a reasonably successful haul. The clothes arrived a few days ago - lovely but more generously cut than one would anticipate. Still, the extra dress they sent meant i could spread the Marni joy to another friend who totally missed out! so happiness all round! You can see me in my cardi...and a new handbag i picked up here.
